Pulse oximetry is a common and painless test that is used to measure your blood oxygen level. There are a variety of pulse oximetry devices that can be used both in our office and at home. Some devices are handheld, tabletop, or wrist-worn. The most common device is called a probe, and it clips comfortably on your finger or ear lobe.
Pulse oximetry is used to for a variety of reasons. Some of the most common are to:
